Drug-Free Campus: Odisha Higher Education Dept Readies Blueprint; SOP To Be Released Soon

Bhubaneswar: All instructional campuses throughout Odisha will turn into drug-free and detailed blueprint is being ready by the Higher Education Department for the initiative.
As per plan, a large drive will likely be undertaken on this regard from the approaching educational session, mentioned Higher Education Department Minister Arun Sahoo on Friday.
While attending a programme of the NSS in Bhubaneswar, Sahoo mentioned that the Higher Education Department will quickly subject pointers on this regard.
“Be it drugs or gutkha, awareness drive will be undertaken in college campuses in the State. Earlier, the Health department had urged to include NSS volunteers and we have passed a resolution in this regard,” mentioned Sahoo.
Though situations of consumption of medication in instructional institutes is far low in Odisha in comparison with different States, steps are being taken to rope in NSS volunteers to make sure that the campuses turn into drug-free.
At current there are over 1 lakh NSS volunteers in 21 authorities and personal universities throughout the State.
