‘Dead’ tribal man reappears, made to re-marry spouse

JEYPORE: Missing for 2 years and presumed to be lifeless by the neighborhood, a tribal man needed to be married once more to his spouse as per customized after he made a surprising reappearance lately in Padapadar village beneath Borigumma block right here. The couple tied the knot on the native Shiva temple in presence of household and neighborhood members on Thursday. Sources stated, Ghasi Amanatya (49) was a each day farm labourer whereas spouse Subarana (45) did odd jobs in lots of households within the village. They had married 25 years again as per tribal customs. 

In 2020, Ghasi left for Tirupati to work as migrant labour together with a couple of others when he reportedly went lacking through the journey. His fellow staff tried to hint him however couldn’t. After failing to hint him for eight months,  the guy labourers knowledgeable his household. Presuming him to be lifeless,  Subarana together with the villagers carried out his final rites and burnt an effigy of Ghasi in absence of his physique. To everybody’s shock, Ghasi returned a month again and claimed that he labored at a farm in Bengaluru after he misplaced his manner and went lacking.

However, his household and neighborhood members didn’t permit him to reside together with his spouse as he had been pronounced lifeless and Subarana was main the lifetime of a widow. After a lot dialogue, villagers determined that Ghasi can lead a traditional life solely after remarrying Subarana and eliminating the ‘dead’ standing. The marriage was subsequently solemnised.“We had performed Ghasi’s last rites with a very heavy heart. By Gods’ grace, he is alive and we remarried him with his wife as mandated by our tribal customs,” stated Ghasi’s members of the family.Sharing her pleasure, Subarana stated,  “I am glad I can now live with my husband like earlier days,” she stated.
