Crime Branch grills NRI Anitha Pulayil over hyperlinks with Kerala vintage conman

KOCHI: Anitha Pulayil, former office-bearer of the World Malayali Federation (WMF), who landed in an argument following her shut affiliation with vintage conman Monson Mavunkal was questioned by the Crime Branch twice final week at Kochi.

Anitha, 44, who has been dwelling in Italy for the final 25 years, was once more within the controversy after she appeared on the open discussion board dialogue platform of Loka Kerala Sabha at Thiruvananthapuram on June 18.

Crime Branch officers confirmed that she was questioned twice in two instances associated to Monson Mavunkal. “We issued notice to her in two cases and she appeared for the interrogation at Crime Branch offices in Kalamassery and Tripunithura. In one case, she was accused of revealing the name of a minor victim who was sexually abused by Monson. In the cheating case registered against Monson, her statement was recorded as a witness,” a Crime Branch official stated.

Crime Branch maintained that Anitha’s arrest will not be required within the case registered towards her for revealing the identify of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) case sufferer. Earlier, Anitha’s assertion was recorded by Crime Branch on-line when she was in Italy final 12 months.

As far as Monson is worried, there are 16 instances registered towards him together with three rape instances. In three rape instances, POCSO was charged towards Monson in two instances. Except for rape instances, Monson has been granted bail in 13 instances.
