Cops repair roads for commuters’ security in Odisha’s Sundargarh, Kandhamal

ROURKELA/PHULBANI: Policing is not only about going after criminals, it is usually about small little measures that make life higher and safer for individuals. The police personnel of Sundargarh and Kandhamal districts on Friday displayed it once they repaired and cleaned roads to make sure security of commuters.

The District Voluntary Force (DVF) personnel on safety responsibility at Raiboga in Sundargarh district volunteered to restore potholes on a highway to assist cut back mishaps. On common responsibility, a DVF group noticed potholes in the course of the highway close to Budakhanda village.

Safe roads cut back probabilities of accident and the DVF group’s voluntary effort was on this course, she stated. 

Similarly, commuters had been taken without warning once they discovered a visitors constable and two house guards sweeping a busy highway in Phulbani within the morning. The cops had been cleansing sand from the highway that posed risk to motorists. With brooms of their fingers, constable Subrat Nayak and and residential guards Kumudinai Satpathy and Puspalata Behera had been seen clearing the sand amassed on the highway.

Sources stated following restore work close by, leftover sand had amassed on the highway. Several commuters, particularly motorcyclists, met with accidents after falling off their bikes because of the sand. In the morning, a person on a bike together with his little one using pillion fell after their bike skidded off the highway because of the sand. They escaped with minor accidents. 

“I had informed municipality officials and the contractor to clear the sand but they failed to act. So I sought help of two home guards and decided to clean the road so that people don’t get hurt,” he added.The cops acquired reward from residents for his or her selfless act.
