So far, one lakh 26 thousand migrant laborers of Chhattisgarh have been returned safely in the state through laborers special trains and other vehicles. 53 workers special train is proposed by the Chhattisgarh government for the safe return of stranded workers in other states. Labor Minister Dr. Shiv Kumar Dahria informed that till date 2 crore 46 lakh 84 thousand 90 rupees have been paid by the Chhattisgarh Bhawan and other construction workers’ board for running 28 special trains. He informed that 36 thousand 586 migrant laborers and 265 other passengers of Chhattisgarh have been brought back so far through 26 labor special trains.

    Due to country-wide lockdown for prevention of corona infection, many precautionary steps were taken by the state government for the return of Chhattisgarh workers, students and people in need of medical care stuck in other states. Under the system of online registration for the return of migrant workers and other people of Chhattisgarh, a total of 2 lakh 84 thousand 264 people have registered so far, including 2 lakh 61 thousand 38 workers and the remaining students, pilgrims, tourists and others. is. Out of which one lakh 26 thousand laborers and citizens have returned to their home village located in the state of Chhattisgarh. Within Chhattisgarh state, 12 thousand 246 workers trapped in other districts have been sent safely to their home district. Similarly, 26 thousand 975 workers from other states stranded in Chhattisgarh have gone back to their home state.

    During lockdown, an amount of Rs 66 lakh 73 thousand has been transferred directly to 17 thousand 677 workers of Chhattisgarh trapped in other states with the aim of providing food, ration, medical etc. and relief. Chhattisgarh State Nodal Officer and Labor Secretary, Mr. Sonamani Bora and other officials are constantly contacting the officers and employers of the respective states to diagnose the problems of workers and arrange for the successful return of workers of Chhattisgarh. Labor Secretary Shri Bora informed that as per the instructions of the Chief Minister, continuous efforts are also being made to provide employment to the workers in the state. In the second phase of the lockdown, since April 20, 1305 factories and factories of the state were started to operate in view of the exemption provided by the government for the conduct of industrial activities, through which about one lakh workers have been restored. The remaining salary of Rs 36 crore 98 lakh has been paid to 26 thousand 205 workers working in the factories and industrial institutions of the state. Free treatment and medicines have been provided to 62 thousand 404 workers of the state. The state has a total of 42 clinics operating through ESI. To help migrant workers and citizens, a helpline center is operational at the state level which is operational 24 hours.
