1 min read

Police has made fresh preparations to monitor Naxal activities. CCTV cameras are being installed in all the four block headquarters of the district with special central assistance. These cameras are being installed not only in squares, hospitals, bus stands, crowded areas, but also in the hot markets of the inner villages in the forest. Through them, the urban network of Naxalites will be monitored from police stations. This will force the force to reach the spot quickly in adverse conditions.

Small action teams of Naxalites often attack the force and villagers in the village hot-markets. Their movements here intensify. It takes a long time for the information of the incident to reach the police stations. By then the attackers have fled. Hence markets have been specially chosen to install cameras. 18 cameras are being installed at the district headquarters.

Elsewhere, their number will be as required. Work has started on this. Operators sitting in police stations will monitor through cameras using Autkil Fiber Cable (OFC). These cameras, which will be operational around the clock, will record all the activities of the area. They will also be reviewed. They will also help in improving the traffic system. This will also help in smuggling iron ore and forest wealth smugglers.
