Chhattisgarh assembly to resume on March 26

Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly has extended its ongoing holidays till March 25 as a preventive measure following coronavirus scare spreading fast across the country.

The ongoing budget      session of the assembly was scheduled to reassemble on March 16 after Holi holidays. A meeting of the Business Advisory Committee was held in the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly on Friday morning.

The committee decided to extend the holidays till March 25. The session will now remain suspended till March 24.

“In the meeting, it was decided to postpone the     proceedings of the Vidhan Sabha in view of the              prevailing situation,” Chief Minister and the leader of the House Bhupesh Baghel said.

Different advisories have been issued in the country regarding Corona, they have also issued orders regarding this in the state, he said, adding that school, colleges have been closed and they were following the guidelines issued by the Central Government.

The Chief Minister added that the state government would take further decision reviewing the situation. He said though the decisions of the meeting of the Business Advisory Committee were generally made public in the House, but he was sharing it publicly as the situation today was different.
