‘BJD’s girls security declare uncovered in Mamita Meher homicide case’: Samir Mohanty

JHARSUGUDA/BALASORE:  Launching a scathing assault on the State authorities over Mamita Meher homicide case, BJP president Samir Mohanty on Tuesday stated girls and kids aren’t protected in Odisha underneath the BJD rule.

Addressing mediapersons at Jharsuguda, the Odisha BJP chief alleged inaction of the BJD authorities in Mamita homicide case through which Minister of State for Home Dibya Shankar Mishra is concerned, exposes the ruling social gathering’s false claims on girls security. Citing information of National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), the BJP chief stated Odisha is the quantity two State within the nation when it comes to crimes towards girls and kids. 

Targeting Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Mohanty stated, “His (Naveen) government makes tall claims about women empowerment. But when it comes to acting against his own Minister involved in a high profile murder case, he is misusing all powers to prove Mishra innocent. People of Odisha are aware of the Minister’s role in the murder case. In the coming days, people would give the BJD government a befitting reply,” he added.

Among others, Bargarh MP Suresh Pujari, former BJP State president Basanta Panda, ex-minister Manmohan Samal and the social gathering’s district chief Mangal Sahoo had been current. BJP staff burnt effigies of the CM,  Mishra and Jena. The agitators alleged that regardless of Mishra having hyperlinks with prime accused Gobinda Sahu, the State authorities will not be taking any motion towards him.  The protest continued for round two hours.
