Another dowry loss of life? Woman discovered hanging at Kollam dwelling, husband absconding

KOLLAM: A 32-year-old lady right here was discovered hanging within the lavatory of her home on Friday evening, barely hours after her mom had lodged a police grievance in opposition to the husband of the deceased lady for tormenting her. Vijitha R, daughter of Reena, ‘Vishnu’, close to Puthenkulam, is believed to have taken the drastic step round 5pm on the day.

The lavatory door was locked from inside. Vijitha and her husband Ratheesh had moved into the brand new home hardly a month in the past. Vijitha’s mom and kinfolk alleged that her husband Ratheesh was behind the incident.

“He used to abuse her repeatedly in the name of dowry. On Friday, after Ratheesh came home, the couple got into a nasty argument over dowry amount. And he hit Vijitha in front of her children and mother,” Reena advised police. Following this, Reena instantly went to the Parippally station to lodge a grievance in opposition to her son-in-law. As Puthenkulam is located on the border between Parippally and Paravoor stations, she unknowingly went to Parippally station to lodge the grievance.

The police knowledgeable her the incident occurred beneath Paravoor station limits and therefore grievance must be lodged with that station, officers stated. According to the police, Ratheesh smashed open the toilet door with a fuel cylinder and rushed Vijitha to Parippally Medical College Hospital. By the time Vijitha had been introduced there, she was useless.

Ratheesh is absconding after the incident. Paravur police visited the home and have began an investigation into the incident. Police recorded the assertion of Vijitha’s mom. A case of unnatural loss of life has been registered. The physique is stored within the mortuary of Parippally Medical College Hospital. The couple had been married for the previous 13 years, with two kids.
