Zhou concerned in scary 1st-lap crash at British GP

Zhou Guanyu was concerned in a daunting first-lap crash Sunday that introduced the British Grand Prix to a direct halt as security crews attended to the one Chinese driver in Formula One.

Zhou’s automotive slide upside-down throughout the gravel and his Alfa Romeo gave the impression to be wedged between fencing and a tire barrier on the first nook. The race was red-flagged and George Russell, one of many drivers concerned within the crash, sprinted from his automotive to the tire barrier to test on Zhou.

Russell seemed to be hit from behind at the beginning and was knocked into Zhou, whose automotive went flying throughout a gravel entice and over a tire wall into the retaining fence. The automotive was skidding on the “halo” which protects the motive force’s head.

FIA, the governing physique for F1, mentioned Zhou and Williams driver Alexander Albon have been being medically evaluated. Albon had spun into the pit wall.

“Both drivers were conscious and will be evaluated at the medical center. Further updates will be given in due course,” the FIA mentioned.

The drivers returned to the pits to await a restart. No time for that has but been introduced.
