By India Today Web Desk: World quantity three Ons Jabeur pulled out of the WTA tournaments in Doha and Dubai as a result of an impending surgical procedure.

The 2022 finalist at Wimbledon and the US Open neither gave particulars in regards to the operation nor revealed why it was wanted.

“In order to take care of my health situation. My medical team have decided that I need to get a minor surgery in order to be able to be back on the courts and perform well,” Jabeur mentioned on Instagram.

“I will have to retire from Doha and Dubai and this is breaking my heart. I would like to say sorry to all the fans out there in the Middle East that waited for this reunion. I promise I will come back to you stronger and healthy.”

The Qatar Open is scheduled to happen from February 13 to 18 and the Dubai Duty Free Championships is ready to be held the following week.

Jabeur was knocked out of the 2023 Australian Open within the second spherical match final month after struggling a 6-1, 5-7, 6-1 defeat towards former French Open finalist Marketa Vondrousova.

Jabeur talked about the necessity to handle an ongoing knee harm, saying: “It’s not a big injury, but sometimes it might bother me. I try to take it one day at a time. It’s a great challenge, you know.”
