Women’s T20 World Cup: Australia captain Meg Lanning confirmed that Alyssa Healy will play within the defending champions’ opening match towards New Zealand.

By India Today Web Desk: Australia captain Meg Lanning confirmed that wicketkeeper-batter Alyssa Healy will play within the workforce’s opening match on the Women’s T20 World Cup 2023.

The defending champions Australia will start its marketing campaign towards New Zealand on February 11. Healy had suffered a calf damage through the T20I tour of India. Subsequently, she was compelled to overlook the T20Is towards Pakistan.

“Obviously, Midge [Healy] comes back in so someone, unfortunately, has to miss out from the team that played in the Pakistan series,” Lanning mentioned within the press convention on the eve of the match.

“It is a very difficult decision, but at the same time, it is really nice to have Midge back. She looks like she is really strong and fit and is ready to come into this tournament to play well.”
