On Monday, October 24, the sport was referred to as off resulting from persistent rain.

The umpires and match officers threw within the towel when South Africa wanted 13 runs off 24 balls to safe their maiden win within the match. Quinton de Kock was batting on 47 runs off 18 deliveries and it appeared a matter of time earlier than the Proteas obtained previous the end line.

But it got to the stage where we could hear a thumping on the rooftop in the dugout. That’s time to get off the field. I don’t think the conditions were right to carry on playing,” Houghton added.

Earlier Mark Boucher, the South Africa head coach, mentioned that Zimbabwe would have wished to hold on enjoying had they been in an identical place.

Zimbabwe’s subsequent Super 12 match is towards Babar Azam’s Pakistan on Thursday, October 27 at Perth Stadium.
