Virat Kohli penned an emotional word for Cristiano Ronaldo after the Portugal ahead’s World Cup dream ended. Portugal crashed out of the 2022 World Cup following a 0-1 defeat in opposition to Morocco within the quarter-final.

By India Today Web Desk: Virat Kohli penned an emotional word for Cristiano Ronaldo, saying that no trophy can take something away from what the veteran ahead has performed for soccer.

The 37-year-old Ronaldo’s World Cup dream ended as Portugal crashed out of the 2022 match after struggling a 0-1 defeat in opposition to Morocco within the quarter-final match.

Kohli additional mentioned that Ronaldo is a “gift from god” and referred to as him the “greatest of all time”.

“No trophy or any title can take anything away from what you have done in this sport and for sports fans around the world. No title can explain the impact you have had on people and what I and so many around the world feel when we watch you play,” Kohli mentioned in an Instagram submit.

“That is a gift from god. A real blessing to a man who plays his heart out every single time and is the epitome of hard work and dedication and a true inspiration for any sportsperson. You are for me the greatest of all time.”

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner Ronaldo arrived in Qatar to play in his fifth World Cup and with a mission to make a distinction for Portugal. In the quarter-final match, Ronaldo got here in in its place within the second half however couldn’t present an equaliser to Youssef En-Nesyri’s aim for Morocco.

Following the defeat, Ronaldo expressed his feelings on social media and mentioned: “Winning a World Cup for Portugal was the biggest and most ambitious dream of my career. Fortunately I won many titles of international dimension, including Portugal, but putting our country’s name on the highest foot in the World was my biggest dream.

“I fought for it. I fought arduous for this dream. In the 5 appearances I scored in World Cups over 16 years, all the time by the facet of nice gamers and supported by tens of millions of Portuguese, I gave my all. Leave all of it out on the sphere. I by no means turned my face to the battle and I by no means gave up on that dream.

“Sadly yesterday the dream ended the heat is not worth reacting. I just want you all to know that much has been said, much has been written, much has been speculated, but my dedication to Portugal hasn’t changed for a moment. I was always one fighting for the objective of all and I would never turn my back on my colleagues and my country.
