Former US Open champions Dominic Thiem and Venus Williams are set to ply their commerce within the upcoming version of the hard-court championship, beginning in round two weeks.

The United States Tennis Association (USTA), on Wednesday, August 17, stated that Venus and Thiem had been handed wild-card entries into the final Grand Slam of 2022.

Coco Vandeweghe, Sofia Kenin, Peyton Stearns, 17-year-old Eleana Yu and Elizabeth Mandlik had been the opposite Americans, who received wild-card entries together with Venus. It’s pertinent to notice that Kenin is a former Australian Open champion.

Emilio Nava, Sam Querrey, Learner Tien, Ben Shelton and JJ Wolf are the Americans who received direct entry into the principle draw by way of wildcards at Flushing Meadows.

The subsequent version of the US Open is scheduled to happen from Monday, August 29 to Sunday, September 11

While the main target of late has principally been on her sister Serena, the 42-year-old Venus Williams will return to the US Open after 2020. Venus has gained at Flushing Meadows two occasions in her profession. As far as Serena is anxious, she may effectively retire from skilled tennis after the top of the event.
