By India Today Web Desk: India captain Rohit Sharma was unaware of the truth that he had develop into the primary Indian participant to hit a century as captain in all three codecs of the sport. Sharma’s century within the opening Test match of the Border Gavaskar Trophy set the tone for the sequence which is able to transfer into its second match on February 17.

In a pitch that batters struggled to attain runs in, Sharma checked out house and batted aggressively towards the Australian bowlers, notching up a century very quickly on Day 2 of the Test match. Speaking about his feat after the sport in a chat organized by the Board of Control for Cricket in India, Sharma advised Ashwin that he had no clue in regards to the file that he had put his title on.

“I just got to know that this is the feat that I have achieved. It is always nice when you can add these milestones in your career. But honestly speaking, your mind does not go there.” Rohit revealed.

The Indian captain praised Ravindra Jadeja’s essential hand with the bat and lauded the participant’s effort. Jadeja on his comeback to worldwide cricket after a protracted bout of knee damage was sensational with each bat and ball.

“As a cricketer, we know he could always bowl, but what I am seeing with the bat is more pleasing to me, and it is helping the team in big way because the number where he goes to bat is quite crucial, we know that. I just hope that he continues to do that,” Rohit mentioned about Ravindra Jadeja.

“You (Ashwin) have been one of the stalwarts of this team, not just 5-6 years, but since the last 10 years,” Rohit additional added about Ashwin.

India won’t journey to New Delhi to play the second Test match on February 17.
