Red Bull boss Christian Horner has admitted that he’s a bit involved about Mercedes’ current resurgence, saying that the Silver Arrows are getting nearer and nearer.

Max Verstappen had a terrific weekend on the French GP as he capitalized on Charles Leclerc’s crash to increase his lead on the high to 63 factors. However, Verstappen wasn’t the one one celebrating as Mercedes secured a double podium end with Lewis Hamilton in second and George Russell in third.

The Silver Arrows entered the race weekend as favorites for a win. However, issues did not go in response to plan for Mercedes as Red Bull and Ferrari dominated proceedings.

However, throughout the race, Hamilton and Russell confirmed quite a lot of spirit and the 24-year-old’s good opportunistic transfer on Sergio Perez was hailed as probably the greatest overtakes of the weekend as he caught the Mexican napping and grabbed third place from the Red Bull crew.

The seven-time World Champion, particularly, has had a unbelievable turnaround as he completed on the rostrum for 4 consecutive races. While Red Bull are 126 factors away from Mercedes in the mean time within the Constructors’ Championship, Horner did admit considerations about their current turnaround.

Speaking after the race, as quoted by the Daily Mail, the Red Bull boss mentioned that Verstappen had a cushty win ultimately, regardless of all of the speak about Mercedes being robust on the Circuit Paul Ricard.

However, he mentioned that the Silver Arrows crew are slowly chipping away and are getting nearer to the highest.

“They were certainly talking up their chances coming into the weekend. I think in the end, Max [Verstappen] was reasonably comfortable.”

“But you can see they’re chipping away at it, they’re getting closer.”

“I hear Toto [Wolff] said they’re going to work throughout the summer break to improve the car, which would, of course, be illegal. You can see they’re getting closer and closer,” mentioned Horner.
