By India Today Web Desk: Prime Minister Narendra Modi met India batter Cheteshwar Pujara in Delhi forward if the second Test of the continuing Border-Gavaskar collection. Pujara is about to play his one hundredth Test match when India takes on Australia on the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on February 17.

Pujara made his debut in October 2010 towards Australia and has gone on to amass 7021 runs in 99 matches, hitting 19 centuries and 34 half-centuries on the way in which.

The Prime Minister took to Twitter to want the batter on his upcoming milestone, saying he was delighted to satisfy Pujara and his spouse, Puja.

“Delighted to have met Puja and you today. Best wishes for your 100th Test and your career,” Modi posted on his Twitter account.

The Indian batter additionally posted a message on his Twitter account, thanking Modi for assembly him, including that he’ll cherish the interplay and encouragement forward of his milestone one hundredth Test match.

Speaking to ESPNcricinfo forward of the match, Pujara stated he will likely be targeted on doing his job for the group, including that he will likely be targeted on the subsequent goal after finishing 100 Test matches.

“Yes, it will be my 100th Test match, but you still have a job to do for the team and you focus on that a bit more. It is similar to batting: when you reach the hundred, you start again. Sometimes you want to score a double-hundred. Here it is not like that – you can’t reach 200 Test matches. But you move on to the next target,” stated Pujara.
