Speaking on his Youtube channel, Raza stated Azam doesn’t have a foul monitor document of captaincy and is the primary time that he has struggled as a captain.

“This is the first time that he has gone through such a phase in his captaincy tenure. Against Australia, we salvaged a great draw and lost one match in the last 10-15 minutes. We did well against Sri Lanka and Bangladesh in Tests. He doesn’t have a bad track record,” stated Raza.

He went on to say that there’s scope for enchancment in Azam’s captaincy, including that eradicating him from the function will have an effect on the stability of the workforce.

The former Pakistan cricketer stated it is extremely essential to empower Azam as he deserves it.

“It is very important to empower the captain. Babar Azam deserves it. I come from a time when the captain became a larger-than-life character after being empowered. When I was the captain, I did not have the power to govern. We were always struggling because I became a half-skipper,” stated Raza.

Raza stated he had a four-hour lengthy session with Azam simply 5 days earlier than the New Zealand collection.

“So when Babar is leading the team, we need to let him play his best XI. You can ask questions when he slips. Questions were raised by everyone after the England series. I had a four-hour session with him just five days before the New Zealand tour,” Raza added.
