By India Today Web Desk: Interim Pakistan Cricket Board chief selector Shahid Afridi has stated that Sarfaraz Ahmed proved his choice proper after scoring a half-century within the first innings towards New Zealand. Sarfaraz scored 86 runs as Pakistan put up 438 runs on the board of their first innings in Karachi.

The former Pakistan captain and now the interim PCB chief selector, took to Twitter to congratulate Sarfaraz and Babar Azam for his or her knocks.

“Pleased with Pakistan’s performance today, great comeback after the early loss of wickets. Special praise for Babar for another outstanding innings. Sarfaraz proved his selection right, excellent performance for him under pressure,” Afridi posted on Twitter.

Babar Azam and Agha Salman scored centuries as Pakistan ended their first innings with 438 runs on the board on the National Stadium in Karachi.
