By India Today Web Desk: Former Pakistan wicket-keeping batter Kamran Akmal has hit out at Pakistan’s strategy in Test cricket, calling it destructive. Pakistan had been held to a draw in opposition to New Zealand within the first Test of the two-match sequence in Karachi.

Speaking on his Youtube channel, Akmal criticised Pakistan’s strategy in Test cricket, including that they should put together pitches that give the bowlers some confidence.

“Pakistan’s approach in Test cricket has been quite negative, considering the pitches that we have been preparing. While we have used batting-friendly pitches in their last seven home Tests, it is equally important to give our bowlers some confidence,” stated Akmal.

Akmal stated Pakistan ought to contemplate taking part in on grassy wickets as their fast-bowlers are faster than these of New Zealand.

“If your spinners are going to bowl so many overs, how are you going to take 20 wickets? We should consider playing on grassy wickets, as our pacers are quicker than the New Zealand fast bowlers,” Akmal added.

He stated the Kiwis performed significantly better than Pakistan in Karachi, insisting that they had been in a position to dominate regardless of taking part in in difficult circumstances.

“New Zealand played a lot better than Pakistan. They were playing on a tough pitch and in challenging conditions. But they were still able to dominate,” stated Akmal.

The 40-year-old showered reward on former New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson, calling him a unbelievable participant, including that he confirmed his class as soon as once more. Williamson scored his fifth Test double-hundred within the first innings in opposition to Pakistan on the National Stadium in Karachi.

“Kane Williamson is a fantastic player, and he showed his class yet again. Countering spinners on such a track is an art, and he was quite exceptional. New Zealand dominated us,” Akmal added.

Pakistan will host New Zealand within the second Test of the sequence in Karachi on January 2.
