Now test match with pink instead of red ball: Shane Warne

2 min read

Former Australia veteran leg-spinner Shane Warne has said that now Test matches should be played with pink ball instead of red ball. The first match of the four-match Test series between India and Australia is being played in Adelaide with a pink ball. Prior to this, Australia has played Test match with pink ball seven times while this is the second match of Indian team with pink ball.

The Indian team had earlier played a pink ball Test against Bangladesh last year. Shane Warne, the second highest wicket-taker in Test cricket, said in a discussion at ‘Fox Cricket’ program, “I have been asking to organize the game with pink ball for the last few years. I believe that pink ball should be used in all Test matches.

Not only in day and night but also in day games. ”Warne has taken 708 wickets in Test cricket and ahead of him only Sri Lanka’s Muttiah Muralitharan has a world record of 800 Test wickets. He said, “Now the bowlers don’t get any help from the red ball. The time has come when we leave this old ball and start using pink balls. In the last few years, day and night test matches have started, in which pink ball is used.

Right now the pink ball is only used in day-night Test matches. “51-year-old Shane Warne said,” It is easy to see the pink ball. Viewers can also easily watch. It looks good on TV too. The red ball does not help after 25 overs. It does not swing after that. In such a situation, I would like the pink ball to be used in every test.
