Novak Djokovic on tenth Australian Open title: Couldn’t ask for a greater scenario to be in in the meanwhile

Serbia’s Novak Djokovic mentioned that he couldn’t have requested for a greater scenario to be in after reaching the Australian Open semi-finals. Djokovic is eyeing his tenth title in Melbourne.

By India Today Web Desk: The 21-time Grand Slam singles champion Novak Djokovic mentioned that there couldn’t be a greater scenario for him to clinch his tenth Australian Open title.

Djokovic prolonged his match-winning streak to 26 in Melbourne as he stormed into the semi-finals of the 2023 event after defeating Andrey Rublev in straight units 6-1, 6-2, 6-4.

The Serbian, who was deported from Melbourne final yr and was denied to defend his title, returned to Australia to compete within the season’s first main event.

“I always try to give my best, particularly in Grand Slams, because at this stage of my career those are the tournaments that count the most, of course,” Djokovic mentioned.

“But you could say that there is something extra this year, yeah. You could say because of the injury, what happened last year. I just wanted to really do well.

“So far I’ve an ideal rating on Australian exhausting courts, in Adelaide and right here. I’ve been enjoying higher and higher and I could not ask for a greater scenario to be in in the meanwhile.”

Djokovic will play against Tommy Paul of America for a place in the final. The Serbian has so far maintained a perfect record in the Australian Open last-four stage.
