Mosaddek Hossain included in Bangladesh squad for first Test towards Sri Lanka

Mosaddek Hossain has been included within the Bangladesh squad for the primary Test of the house sequence towards Sri Lanka subsequent month. The 26-year-old proper hander final performed a Test in May 2019.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) included middle-order batter Mosaddek Hossain within the squad for the primary Test towards Sri Lanka, which begins on May 15. Earlier, Nayeem Hasan made it to the squad instead of the injured Mehedy Hasan, however the transfer to incorporate Mossadek, who is just not common in red-ball cricket, was performed so as to have extra depth of their batting.

“Mossadek was injured after playing two first-class games, so he could not play either in the National Cricket League or the Bangladesh Cricket League (the first-class competitions),” Habibul Bashar, member of the senior males’s group’s choice panel was quoted as saying by Cricbuzz on Friday (April 29).

“We have included him as we feel if we play four bowlers then we might need someone who can bat down the order.”

The Sri Lanka cricket group will arrive in Bangladesh on 8 May for a two-match sequence which is part of the 2021-2023 ICC World Test Championship. The first Test begins on the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium (ZACS) in Chattogram on 15 May, whereas the second Test commences on the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium (SBNCS) in Dhaka on 23 May.
