By India Today Web Desk: West Indies skipper Kraigg Brathwaite heaped reward on Tagenarine Chanderpaul after the latter scored his maiden Test hundred on Sunday, January 5. Chanderpaul was unbeaten on 55 at Stumps on Day 1 and he received his first three-figure rating within the purest format off 286 balls.

The guests completed Day 2 with their rating at 221 for no loss in 89 overs after each Chanderpaul and Brathwaite scored centuries. While he had phrases of reward for his batting associate, Brathwaite was additionally elated to attain his twelfth hundred in Test cricket.

“Scoring a Test hundred is a superb feeling, very happy. I think Zimbabwe bowled really well. I don’t think they made it easy at all. Today, the ball was moving around a bit. I think we went about our work really well,” Brathwaite was quoted as saying after the day’s play.

“Credits to Tagenarine (Chanderpaul), he was fantastic. I see him progressing to be a top opener, he’s world class. I’m glad we got some big partnerships and we just have to continue,” he said.
