Earlier, Sunrisers Hyderabad on Saturday stopped Kings XI Punjab for 126 runs on seven wickets in the Indian Premier League match on the basis of the performance of their bowlers. After winning the toss, the decision of the first bowling captain David Warner was proved correct by the Sunrisers bowlers. Punjab wickets kept falling at regular intervals.

For Punjab, captain KL Rahul (27), Mandeep Singh (17) and Chris Gayle (20) started well but could not play solid innings. Punjab could not get a big partnership. Gayle came out to bat at number three and was not allowed to play openly by the Sunrisers bowlers by putting the ball outside the off stump. In the end, Gale played a bad shot off his West Indian teammate Jason Holder and Warner took a great catch in the long off.

Holder conceded 27 runs and Rashid took two wickets for 14 runs. At the same time, Sandeep Sharma took two wickets for 29 runs. Rashid bowled a bold blow to Punjab by bowling Rahul on the very first ball of the 11th over. At this time the score was 66 for three wickets.

Glenn Maxwell (12) continued in poor form and returned to Sandeep by catching Warner at long on. Deepak Hooda was tricked by Rashid and in an attempt to go ahead and play he fell victim to Bairstow. The Sunrisers bowlers had put such pressure that no fours were hit in Punjab’s innings till 11 overs. Nicholas Puran broke this pressure in the 19th over, who remained unbeaten after scoring 32 off 28 balls
