After turning into the one fourth Indian participant to register a century in T20I, Deepak Hooda stated that he needed to emulate his IPL efficiency in his matches for the nation.

Hooda, who made his T20I debut towards Sri Lanka in February 2022, joined the likes of Suresh Raina, Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul after smashing 100 towards Ireland within the second T20I on Tuesday. The Hardik Pandya-led India secured a clear sweep over Ireland within the two-match collection.

“To be honest, I was coming from a good IPL and wanted to follow the same performance. Happy with my intent,” Hooda stated on the post-match presentation.

The Player of the Series, Hooda added: “I like playing in that manner (aggressive) and these days I am batting up the order so getting some time.”

In his two outings towards Ireland, Hooda scored 151 runs, together with 104 off 57 balls within the second T20I.

Hooda performed for Lucknow Super Giants within the 2022 IPL earlier this 12 months. He amassed 451 runs in 15 matches at a strike-rate of 136.67. After a powerful marketing campaign with Lucknow, Hooda was added to the Indian squad.
