By India Today Web Desk: Former Manchester United participant Gary Neville has landed in sizzling waters after screenshots had been shared of him liking tweets that aspect with Mason Greenwood on the costs of assault, rape and controlling behaviour. Neville’s Twitter exercise steered that the participant had appreciated two tweets from consumer Nazir Afzal who celebrated the truth that police had dropped all expenses in opposition to Mason Greenwood over the dearth of proof.

Manchester United ahead Mason Greenwood has had all felony expenses in opposition to him dropped, police and prosecutors stated on Thursday.

Greenwood, who was suspended by United in January 2022 when accusations in opposition to him surfaced on social media, was charged with tried rape, controlling behaviour and assault final October. He had been attributable to stand trial on Nov. 27, 2023.

United launched a quick assertion saying the membership would “conduct its own process before determining next steps”, including that it might not make any additional remark till that course of was accomplished.

“A decision has been made to discontinue prosecution in accordance with the Code for Crown Prosecutors,” the Crown Prosecution Service stated in a press release naming Greenwood.

A CPS spokesperson stated: “A combination of the withdrawal of key witnesses and new material that came to light meant there was no longer a realistic prospect of conviction.”

The CPS added that it inspired “any potential victims to come forward and report to police”.
