French GP: Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz joyful that Charles Leclerc bought pole after giving tactical tow

Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz expressed his happiness at seeing Charles Leclerc acquire pole place on the French Grand Prix after giving him a tactical tow throughout the ultimate qualifying session.

Sainz can be ranging from the again of the grid as penalties had been handed to him after his automotive was fitted with new engine components. However, in an ideal show of teamwork, the Spaniard offered Leclerc a tow. The Monegasque driver used the additional tempo to complete three-tenths forward of Red Bull’s Max Verstappen to assert P1.

This was Leclerc’s seventh pole of the season.

Speaking after the session, as quoted by NDTV, Sainz admitted that he was pissed off personally as he had been fast all weekend. However, he stated that he was joyful about Leclerc’s pole.

“I’ve been very quick here all weekend, so I feel a sense of a bit of frustration personally.”

“But I am happy that Charles has pole position. He will have to fight with Max at the start, but I believe he can do it it’s all about nailing the start,” stated Sainz.

The Spanish driver went on to say that Saturday’s incident confirmed that they seem to be a good workforce and the environment round Ferrari is nice in the mean time they usually’re prepared to assist one another.

“Today shows that we are a very solid team. There is a good atmosphere in our team and we are all willing to help each other,” stated Sainz.

Leclerc went on to reward his teammate’s effort by saying that it was the right job by Sainz because it helped him to realize two-tenths. The Ferrari driver additionally stated he had an important mindset whereas driving.

“He did the perfect job and his tow helped me a lot I gained two-tenths there on that straight so in the final sector I had a great mindset. It was a great job by Carlos,” stated Leclerc.
