By India Today Web Desk: Right-hander Will Jacks reckoned that England want a couple of ‘crazy moments’ to safe victory of their opening Test in opposition to Pakistan on the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

At Stumps on Day 2, Pakistan, led by Babar Azam, are trailing by 476 runs with all their 10 wickets in tact after England racked up a humongous rating of 657 all out in 101 overs.

Jacks, who scored 30 runs off 29 balls whereas batting at No.8, stated that the pitch is nice for batting, however has began to point out indicators of indifference.

“It’s a nice wicket to bat on, as you can tell by our score. It will be tough to get 20 wickets, but we’ll definitely give it a crack. When we were batting it started to get a little bit lower, so hopefully we get one to stay low,” Jacks was quoted as saying.

“We’re going to have to take a few worldie catches and have a few crazy moments go our way to win. There’s a lot of cricket left to be played. They have batted well, which they’re allowed to do. We’ll be pushing for a win over the next three days,” he said.

Wills stated that his Test debut wasn’t pre-decided and it was solely due to Ben Foakes’s sickness that he acquired an opportunity to don the whites in Rawalpindi.

“It was quite literally two minutes before I got the cap. I knew going to bed the night before that we had 13 players and staff ill, seven or eight players, so there might be a possibility I’d need to be called up. I was about 50% mentally ready. Ben Stokes pulled me to one side and said ‘Foakesy’s ill, you’re in’. It didn’t give me any time to get nervous,” Jacks added.

After amassing over 500 runs on Day 1, England carried on with their good work on the second day. Jacks, Harry Brook and Ollie Robinson added some useful runs and took the Three Lions to one among their highest workforce totals within the historical past of Test cricket.
