New Zealand have obtained an enormous jolt to their marketing campaign after Colin de Grandhomme was dominated out of the rest of the three-Test match sequence towards England on account of a tear to his proper plantar fascia (heel).

New Zealand all-rounder Colin de Grandhomme has been dominated out of the rest of the Test sequence towards England after a scan revealed a tear to his proper plantar fascia (heel).

Michael Bracewell, who was with the squad for the primary Test as cowl for Henry Nicholls, has been added for the rest of the sequence as de Grandhomme’s substitute.

Head coach Gary Stead stated that de Grandhomme would require 10 to 12 weeks to recuperate.

“It’s a real shame for Colin to suffer this injury so early in the series,” Stead said in a statement. “He’s a large a part of our Test aspect and we’ll actually miss him.

“It’s great to be able to call on someone like Michael who’s been with the squad for the past month and is match ready.”

New Zealand misplaced the primary Test towards England by 5 wickets. The groups will start the second Test from June 10 at Trent Bridge in Nottingham.
