Australia all-rounder Ellyse Perry shared the “twist of fate” after becoming a member of Royal Challengers Bangalore’s first-ever group for the upcoming Women’s Premier League (WPL).

Perry, whose base worth was INR 50 lakh, was snapped by the Bangalore-based franchise for INR 1.7 crore on the WPL public sale on February 13 in Mumbai. The 32-year-old Perry revealed that she was current on the stadium to observe RCB’s first-ever IPL recreation in 2008.

“A big hello and a big thank you for the opportunity to play with RCB in the first ever WPL,” Perry stated in a RCB video. “I’m so excited for this tournament and everything it means for the women’s game.

“It is sort of actually cool as a result of the accident was that I used to be really on the first-ever ECB recreation for males a few years in the past. Since then, RCB has all the time had a little bit of a gentle spot in my coronary heart. I suppose it was this accident and now being a part of the first-ever girls’s group is tremendous cool.

“(I’m) looking forward to meeting everyone who is part of the team and also the huge fanbase that the club has. It’s amazing to think it is all coming reality. So, look forward to see you all in March,” added Perry.

The Women’s Premier League (WPL) will probably be performed solely in Mumbai, throughout two stadiums – D.Y. Patil and Brabourne. Royal Challengers Bangalore will start its marketing campaign in opposition to Delhi Capitals on March 5.

RCB has a star-studded line-up, with the likes of India opener Smriti Mandhana, England captain Heather Knight, New Zealand captain Sophie Devine. Mandhana grew to become the most costly participant on the WPL public sale after RCB purchased her for INR 3.4 crore on February 13.
