Commonwealth Games 2022: Weightlifter Gururaja wins India’s 2nd medal, baggage bronze in males’s 61kg class

Gururaja Poojary received India’s second medal on the Commonwealth Games 2022 in Birmingham by claiming bronze within the males’s 61kg weightlifting with a complete elevate of 269kg (118+151) on Day 2 on the Games on Saturday.

Gururaja was competing with Canada’s Youri Simard. But the Indian weightlifter produced a private better of 151kg in clear and jerk to complete with 269kgs, one kilo greater than Simard to safe India’s 2nd medal on Saturday.

Ahead of the competitors, Gururaja revealed that he left dwelling only one month after the wedding to affix the nationwide camp for Asian and CWG.
