Bio-bubble has mental impact on players: Virat

1 min read

Indian captain Virat Kohli has expressed concern about the mental impact of bio-bubble (biosecurity environment) on players due to long tours. Virat is the captain of the IPL team Royal Challengers Bangalore which is currently part of the bio-bubble. Indian captain Virat along with other Indian players will leave for the tour of Australia soon after the IPL ends on November 10. The tour against Australia will end in February, which means that most of the players will have to stay in the bio-bubble for a long time.

“This is happening continuously,” Virat told RCB TV. We have a great team so this situation is not so difficult. Everyone living in bio bubble is fantastic, due to which we are enjoying playing together and staying in bio bubble but it becomes difficult to stay in bio-bubble continuously. He said, “Some things have to be considered such as how long the duration of the tournament or series will be and what will be the mental impact on the players for staying in the same environment for 80 days continuously and not doing anything different.”

Virat said, “Whether it will be allowed to go in the middle of the tournament to meet the family or do other things like this, all these things should be considered seriously. Ultimately, you want players who are mentally healthy, depending on how they feel. All these things should be regularly discussed.
