By India Today Web Desk: Former New Zealand pacer Simon Doull has showered reward on India captain Rohit Sharma, calling him a troublesome participant who fights when issues are onerous. Rohit scored a century in Nagpur as India hammered Australia by an innings and 132 runs to take a 1-0 lead within the four-match Border-Gavaskar collection.

Speaking forward of the second match in Delhi, Doull stated Rohit is a type of gamers who stands and fights when issues are powerful.

“I think Rohit is one of those cricketers. When things are tough, he fights. He’s just one of those tough blokes who stands up when the opposition is coming at you. He says come at me if you want. I’ll come at you harder,” Doull informed Sports Yaari.

He went on to say that Rohit fights fireplace with fireplace and his captaincy can be a bit like that as nicely, including that he likes how Rohit puffs his chest out and takes on the opposition.

“His captaincy is a little bit like that as well. When it’s been a bit hard, he has sort of found a way to fight through it. He has fought fire with fire. He was quite aggressive in his innings as well. When he plays with that sort of confidence, he puffs the chest out and takes on the opposition. I like that about him,” Doull added.

The former fast-bowler stated that groups have a tendency to select a spinner only for the sake of choosing one when taking part in in India, insisting that if the spinners aren’t ok towards a high quality batting line-up, they’re not going to have success.

“Teams going to India tend to pick spinners for the sake of picking one rather than picking their best bowlers. If your spinners aren’t quality enough against high-quality batting, then they are not going to have success,” stated Doull.

Doull identified that the largest mistake that Australia made was leaving the in-form Travis Head out of their aspect for the Nagpur Test.

“I think the biggest mistake they did was leaving Travis Head out. He was one of their best batters in Test cricket in recent times along with Labuschagne and Smith,” Doull added.
