By India Today Web Desk: Aakash Chopra feels that Shubman Gill’s type shall be an issue for KL Rahul after the 23-year-old scored his maiden hundred towards Bangaldesh within the first Test on Friday.

Gill smashed 110 runs from 152 balls and his innings consisted of 10 boundaries and three sixes. On the opposite hand, Rahul as soon as once more did not impress and received out for 23 runs within the second innings.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, as quoted by Sportskeeda, Chopra mentioned that Gill’s type may change into an issue for Rahul, with Rohit Sharma reportedly in line to make a comeback within the second Test.

“It is a problem for KL Rahul that he has had two low scores. He got an inside edge in the first innings and got out to the bouncer trap in the second innings. He is an amazing player but with the job Shubman Gill has done, who will go out when Rohit Sharma comes back?” mentioned Chopra.

Chopra praised Gill and mentioned that the younger batter grabs his probability with each arms when he’s offered a chance and has now given India a candy choice headache.

“Shubman Gill got out in the first innings but struck 110 runs off 152 balls in the second innings. Whenever you give him a chance, he grabs it with both hands, and gives you a sweet headache, that how will you keep him out?” mentioned Chopra.

Chopra went on to say that Gill’s batting type aligns with white-ball cricket extra and that makes him a particular participant.

“What makes Shubman Gill special? He plays extremely clean. His playing style aligns with white-ball cricket, that his feet and body remain beside the ball and the path is always clean for the bat’s downswing,” mentioned Chopra.

The former cricketer concluded by saying that he feels the 23-year-old can develop into a middle-order batter for India in the long term.

“He is aggressive by nature and has a very good temperament to play a big knock. He has struck a century and it’s the first of many. He can play as an opener on subcontinental pitches, will score runs as well, but when I see him closely, I feel he is a No. 3 or No. 4 batter, for a long, long, long time.”
