AIFF’s new elected physique needs to be in place by September finish, will submit modified structure by July 15: Quraishi

A newly elected physique of the All India Football Federation needs to be in place by September finish and a modified structure shall be submitted to the Supreme Court by July 15, Committee of Administrators (CoA) member S. Y. Quraishi mentioned on Sunday.

The Supreme Court had on May 18 appointed a three-member CoA headed by former high courtroom decide AR Dave to handle the affairs of the AIFF and type its structure in step with the National Sports Code and mannequin tips.

Quraishi and Ganguly had been made directors by the SC in 2017 to formulate the structure of the AIFF in consonance with the National Sports Code. They had submitted a draft structure to the SC in a sealed cowl in January 2020.

“Hopefully, by July 21, we will have an approved constitution as there are various notices and clarifications on the electoral role. “After that, we will convene the election as quickly as possible. The election process will take six to eight weeks to complete. Once the newly elected body is in place, our work is done and the CoA goes home. Our task is to finish it as quickly as possible,” Quraishi mentioned.

A joint workforce from FIFA and Asian Football Confederation (AFC) is about to go to India to “understand the current situation” within the aftermath of the SC order. Quraishi mentioned the assembly shall be held on June 11 and the CoA needs to satisfy the representatives of the 2 our bodies to debate the brand new structure of the AIFF and to guarantee them that the committee is in place to assist fast-track the election course of.

“Although we have constantly been in touch, we have planned our first formal meet at the Football House in New Delhi on June 8. We have also invited a delegation from the FIFA and the AFC, who we will meet on June 11,” Quraishi mentioned.
