Maharashtra: BJP leaders demand motion in opposition to Sharjeel Usmani for Hinduphobic speech

On January 31, Keshav Upadhye, Maharashtra state unit spokesperson of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), urged Uddhav Thackeray-led Maharashtra authorities to take motion in opposition to Sharjeel Usmani for alleged Hinduphobic speech at Elgar Parishad in Pune on Saturday.
As per the experiences, Usmani, former pupil chief and columnist for Newslaundy, addressed a gathering of round 500 individuals within the second version of Elgar Parishad at Ganesh Kala Krida Manch, the place he used defamatory language in opposition to the Hindu neighborhood.

Upadhye urged CM Thackeray to take motion in opposition to Usmani. He stated, “Will the CM take action against him or continue with his rhetoric that they have not left Hindutva. State home minister Anil Deshmukh should take action against him.”
Elgar Parishad: More than two hours of incendiary speeches
On Saturday, Elgar Parishad was organized by Bhima Koregaon Shaurya Din Prerna Abhiyan, an umbrella group of 250 Dalit organizations. It was first held in 2018 to commemorate the 2 hundredth anniversary of the Battle of Bhima-Koregaon of 1818. The conclave resulted in violent clashes at Bhima-Koregaon village.
During the second version of the Elgar Parishad, a number of audio system, together with Sharjeel Usmani, Arundhati Roy and Prashant Kanojia, used the stage to unfold Hinduphobia. While Usmani referred to as the Hindu neighborhood rotten, Arundhati Roy fortunately threw Gaurmutra jibes to mock Hindus.
Kanojia stated the actions would proceed till their ‘Kashmiri brothers’ obtain justice, Akhlaq and Pehlu Khan obtain justice, and the farm legal guidelines aren’t repealed. He stated that the motion would proceed till the RSS is uprooted from this world. Furthermore, in a very incendiary bit, he informed Dalits that it’s higher to ‘die fighting in the streets’ than reside as ‘oppressed.’
