Farmers shared problems being faced in getting electricity connection for tubewells : Chief Minister assured of taking necessary action

Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel met a large number of people and delegations from various parts of the state, in the Jan-Chaupal:Bhent Mulaqat programme organized at CM House today. Chief Minister directed department officials concerned to take necessary action on the applications and memorandums received. Home Minister Mr. Tamradhwaj Sahu, Agriculture and Water Resource Department Minister Mr. Ravindra Choubey, MP Mrs. Chhaya Verma, MLA Duo Mr. Kuldeep Juneja and Mr. Vikas Upadhyay were also present on the occasion.

Villagers from village Dadhi of Bemetara district thanked Chief Minister for declaring Dadhi as Up-Tehsil. It is noteworthy that Chief Minister had announced upgrading of Dadhi as Up-Tehsil, on request of villagers at Janchaupal held on September 18. Delegation informed that earlier, people of 60 surrounding villages near Dadhi had to travel all the way to Bemetara for their works. Distance between these villages and Bemetara is around 70 kms. Now that Dadhi has been declared up-tehsil, it has become more convenient for the villagers to get their works done.

Villagers from Temri village of Simga block told Chief Minister that their lands were acquired for Bilaspur-Raipur Road in year 2014-15, but because of the ambiguities, they could not receive proper compensation against the land acquisition. Delegation handed over memorandum to Chief Minister in the context. Chief Minister assured the delegation of getting their memorandum examined and taking appropriate action in the context.

Delegation of farmers from Dandgaon of Mungeli district told Chief Minister that they had got tubewell digging work done in groups of two, three, four and six farmers. They had given applications for electricity connection for tubewells to Electricity Department, in response to which they have received estimate of Rs 7.36 lakh for group of four farmers. After deduction of subsidy amount of Rs 4 lakh, farmers would still have to pay Rs 3.36 lakh. Farmers are finding it difficult to arrange for such huge amount. Delegation requested Chief Minister to provide further subsidy in the electricity connection charges. Chief Minister assured them of taking appropriate action in the context.
