CM Bhupesh Baghel inaugurates the first cowshed built with public participation

On the occasion of Father of Nation Mahatma Gandhi’s 150th birth anniversary, Chief Minister inaugurated ‘Gokuldham Gothan’- the first cowshed to be built with public participation in Kandel village. Meanwhile, Chief Minister fed grass to cows and inspected the cowshed. Chief Minister praised the efforts of people of the village. Cowsheds to be built under Suraaji Gaon Yojana will be developed on 4 acre area and cowshed committee will be constituted for its maintenance. For construction of ‘Gokuldham Gothan’, people of the village had pooled in Rs 5 lakh, and they also participated in construction of boundary wall construction, ground-leveling and cleaning work for the cowshed.

Built with limited funds, this cowshed is well-equipped and has proper drinking water facility, pipeline, shade and other facilities. Two biogas plants have also been established, through which gas is supplied to shepherd families. Here, Livestock Development Department had also put up an exhibition of cattle born through artificial insemination. On the occasion, Agriculture and Bio Technology Minister Mr. Ravindra Choubey, PWD Minister Mr. Tamradhwaj Sahu, Forest Minister Mr. Mohammad Akbar, School Education Minister Mr. Premsai Tekam, Women and Child Development Minister Mrs. Anila Bhendiya, Industry Minister Mr. Kawasi Lakhma, Revenue Minister Mr. Jai Singh Agrawal, MLA Mr. Mohan Markam and other public representatives along with a large number of villagers were also present.
