Weather Alert Update: Red alert for torrential rains, these states will have 4-5 days of rains

New Delhi : The Meteorological Department has issued an alert as the low pressure area in the Bay of Bengal moves forward. According to the information received, the Meteorological Department has said that there will be rains during the next four-five days in North, Eastern and Central India. Expressing this forecast, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for torrential rains on 26 August in Odisha and 27 August in Chhattisgarh. The department has also forecast heavy rain in many areas of Delhi and Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday.

Chance of Heavy Rain

The Meteorological Department said that there is a low pressure area (storm) over the Bay of North Bengal and its adjoining areas, which is likely to increase in the west-northwest direction in the next four-five days. Due to its impact, heavy to very heavy rains are expected in Odisha, Bengal’s Gangetic areas and various areas of Jharkhand by August 28.

26 to 28 August Heavy rain

Many areas of Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and western Rajasthan will also receive heavy rains between August 26-28. Apart from this, in some areas of Odisha 25-26 and in Chhattisgarh on 27 August, heavy rains may occur at many places. According to the meteorological department, Sati Devi, head of the National Weather Forecasting Center, said that there will be widespread rains in north, central and eastern India.

Apart from this, there is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall in some remote areas of Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand. Also, heavy rainfall is expected in Uttar Pradesh, national capital Delhi, Bengal, Rajasthan, East Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra’s Vidarbha region, Bihar, Jammu and Kashmir and many areas of Ladakh on Wednesday.
