Security forces shot dead in encounter in Shopian, Jammu and Kashmir

Kashmir. Jammu and Kashmir Police has informed that two unidentified terrorists have been killed in an encounter with security forces. This encounter took place in Kilura area in Shopian District of Jammu and Kashmir. Earlier, the police had told that this encounter between security forces and terrorists had started suddenly in Killura in Shopian district. A police officer said that security forces started a siege and search operation there after receiving information about the presence of terrorists in the district’s Killura area.

Giving further information about this, he said that during this time the terrorists opened fire on the search party of the security force and the encounter started between the two sides. The officer said that firing was done from both sides and additional security forces were also sent to the spot immediately.

Pakistani troops opened fire in forward areas of Poonch district along the Line of Control
Apart from this, Pakistani troops violated the ceasefire on Thursday night by heavy shelling in the forward areas along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir. A defense spokesman gave this information. The spokesman said that the Indian Army is giving a befitting reply to the firing of Pakistani soldiers.

He said, “Pakistan started firing with small arms and firing shells from mortar at around 10 o’clock in Deogwar and Malti sectors without any provocation.” According to the spokesman, the firing from both sides was going on till the last news was received. No casualties have been reported on this side of the Line of Control.
