Riyaz’s bail plea in 1993 Bombay blasts dismissed in Supreme Court

New Delhi: The Supreme Court rejected the bail application of Riyaz Ahmad Siddiqui, who was convicted in 1995 for demanding extortion and murder from builder Pradeep Jain. Riyaz, 67, lodged in Yerwada Jail in Maharashtra, is serving a life sentence for the murder of builder Pradeep Jain. He was also involved in the 1993 serial bomb blasts and has been sentenced to 10 years in prison. In the year 1995, Bombay was renamed as Mumbai.

The bench said – there is no reason to grant bail

A bench headed by Justice NV Ramna said, “After hearing both the parties, we see no reason to grant bail to the petitioner Riyaz, hence the bail application is rejected.” Justice S. in the back Abdul Nazir and Justice Suryakant were also included.

Riyaz Corona has been found infected and is undergoing treatment at the hospital. He had sought interim bail through his lawyers citing the corona infection.
