The families applying for a loan under the scheme will have to meet the income criteria. For this, the applicant must belong to financially weaker section, low income group or BPL family. The annual income of the applicant’s family should be between three and six lakhs. Under the scheme, the beneficiaries are only allowed to build or buy a house.

The list of beneficiaries for providing benefits under the Pradhan Mantri Yojana is prepared on the basis of the socio-economic caste population of 2011. Apart from this, the list is prepared on the basis of the information of the head of the village panchayat, village level worker and local public representatives. If the beneficiaries of rural areas fulfill this qualification, then they can take information about the application through their ward member or the head or the village head.
