Now the government is preparing for changes in agricultural education, instructions to make ICAR an expert committee

What will change in agricultural education, the committee of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) will decide. There are 117 research institutes including three central universities under ICAR.

New Delhi. Under the new education policy, preparations have also started for changes in agricultural education. In this, experience and practical training can be increased. Emphasis will be on entrepreneurship development and business management for students. Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar has held extensive discussions with the Vice Chancellors of agricultural universities across the country and hundreds of scholars related to agricultural education. The minister has asked the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) to form an expert committee in this regard, which will give its recommendations in this regard.

Tomar said that with the new era, we should also keep changing our policies and rules. The field of agriculture is full of important and diversities. It is also special from the point of view of economy, because large population of the country gets employment in agriculture sector. It is also the largest area from the point of production, so how can it be included in the new education policy to upgrade it, this is being discussed with academics.

Agriculture related to technology
Tomar said that farmers face difficulties due to natural adverseness, so it is necessary that new dimensions are added in the field of agricultural education. So that the new generation can be able to connect the agricultural sector with technology. With profit, the agricultural sector could become the center of attraction. PM also wants to get the benefit of digitization.
