Monsoon rains may occur in Delhi today: Meteorological Department

Delhi received 237 mm of rainfall in August, which is the highest rainfall in this month in the last seven years.
New Delhi. The Meteorological Department has predicted light rain in Delhi on Wednesday. According to the Meteorological Department, this rain may be the last rain of the monsoon season. According to the Meteorological Department (IMD), there has been no rain in Delhi for the last two weeks. Safdarjung observatory recorded 1.3 mm of rainfall on 8 September. Delhi has received only three days of rain this month, which is the lowest since 2016.
Kuldeep Srivastava, head of the local forecast center of India Meteorological Department, said, ‘Light rain may occur in some parts of Delhi. After this there is very less chance of rain again during the monsoon season. He told that the monsoon will start withdrawal from Rajasthan on 26 September. After this, Delhi, Haryana will return from western Uttar Pradesh in the last week of September.
The heat and humidity will continue to bother Delhiites. On Tuesday, the maximum temperature was 37.1 degrees Celsius, three degrees above normal. According to the India Meteorological Department, there has been 80 percent less rainfall in September so far. Safdarjung Observatory has recorded 20.9 mm of rain this month as compared to the normal 104.2 mm rainfall.
