Important meeting of India-China Foreign Ministers amidst tension over LAC, agreed on these 5 things

Moscow:  Five points have been agreed between India (India) and China (China) to ease the ongoing tension on the LAC. This was agreed upon in a meeting held in Moscow on Thursday between Indian Foreign Minister S Jaishankar and his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi.

A top government source told Zee News affiliate channel WION that the two-point talks between the two leaders have agreed on a five-point agenda to reduce tension on the border.

A joint statement has also been issued in this regard. According to which, the forces of both sides will continue their dialogue and will try to reduce the tension at their level.

Consent made on these 5 things

2. Dialogue will be continued through Special Representative Mechanism (SR) on border related matters.

3. All prior agreements will be taken into consideration 

4. Peace on the border is essential for strong bilateral relations

5. Efforts to build trust for peace in border areas will be accelerated

The joint statement, agreed to continue the dialogue , also mentions that the two countries will take into account all the previous agreements to establish peace in the border areas. In the meeting of foreign ministers, both sides have agreed to continue the dialogue on matters related to the border through the Special Representative Mechanism (SR). The SR-level mechanism, led by India’s National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and Chinese FM, has met twice over the last four months of deadlock on the Line of Actual Control (LAC). It has also been agreed that the two sides will speed up the work of building trust for peace in the border areas after the current situation improves.

This is the first time that the foreign ministers of the two countries have met in this way amidst the latest controversy that peace cannot proceed . A top government source told WION that the Indian Foreign Minister made his stand clear at the meeting. He admitted that it takes time to resolve issues like border dispute, but also clarified that without peace in the border areas cannot be moved forward. External Affairs Minister Jaishankar also said that the recent events in East Ladakh have affected bilateral relations and immediate solution to the problem will be in the interest of both countries. Indian Ambassador to China Vikram Misri and Indian Ambassador to Russia Bala Venkatesh Varma were also present at this meeting.

Violation by Chinese Army During 
the meeting of the two leaders, India said that the action of Chinese troops on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) is not only a matter of concern but it is also a violation of the agreements between India and China in 1993 and 1996. External Affairs Minister Jaishankar said that the Chinese army took provocative action in many places, which is a direct violation of bilateral agreements and protocols.

India said that it wants China to abide by all the previous agreements on the management of border areas and also made it clear that the Indian Army has always followed the agreements and protocols. After this important meeting between the two leaders, it is believed that a decision can be taken soon on the deployment of soldiers at the military commander level. Ground commanders have agreed to the 6th round of talks at the Corps Commander level on Thursday.
