100 more special trains to be run soon: proposal of Railways, waiting for approval of Ministry of Home Affairs

An announcement to run about 100 more trains can be announced soon. These trains will be run first on more demanding routes. At present only 230 passenger trains are running, of which 30 are Rajdhani Express trains. All these are being run like special trains. The name of the new trains will also be ‘Special’.
The Railway Ministry is discussing with the states about the operation of new trains. In this regard, the Railways has also sent a proposal to the Ministry of Home Affairs. Trains can start operating as soon as he gets his permission. At the same time, when the Railways will issue zero-based time table in the next two months or in April next year, then there will be no change in the timing of these trains.
At the same time, in view of the demand of passengers, the railway is set to unlock trains. Railways had prepared the plan earlier also, but it was postponed. The Center has given permission to start Metro Rail under Unlock-4, so the Railway Ministry believes that it is not right to keep the lock of passenger trains.

Regular passenger trains are closed since 22 March: To stop the spread of Corona, regular passenger trains are closed from 22 March in the country. However, labor special trains were run from May 1 to take migrant laborers to their homes.
1.78 crore tickets due to Corona cancellation: Railways have canceled more than 1.78 crore tickets since March this year. During this period an amount of 2,727 crore was returned. For the first time, the Railways returned more money than the ticket bookings.
Special trains in Bihar for JEE, NEET and NDA students: Railways will run special trains in Bihar from September 2 to 15 for JEE-Main, NEET and NDA candidates. Railway Minister Piyush Goyal said that 20 pairs of MEMU and DEMU special trains will run during this period. JEE-Main is until 6 September. NDA exam is on 6 September. NEET is proposed on 13 September.
