But, instead of dropping her home, they took her to the nearby jungle and raped her one by one,” stated Gumla Sub-divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Manish Chandra Lal. After the incident, they dumped the lady close to her residence, he added.

After reaching residence, in response to SDPO, she informed her father and brother in regards to the incident. Enraged over the incident, the lady’s members of the family and some different villagers began in search of them and located them at Ashish’s home. “Once they reached Amba Toli, the motorbike was set ablaze by sprinkling petrol on it and the two youths were beaten up by punches and bamboo sticks. After thrashing them badly, the two youths were also put on fire after sparkling kerosene oil on them following which, they ran towards their respective home and took shelter over there,” stated the SDPO.

Later, police had been knowledgeable and so they had been rushed to Sadar Hospital in Gumla from the place they had been referred to Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Ranchi, he added. “Sunil Oraon succumbed to his injuries during treatment, early in the morning on Thursday, while Ashish Oraon is still struggling for life,” stated the SDPO.

An FIR has been lodged within the incident towards 5 named and 10-12 unknown individuals, he added. One FIR has additionally been lodged from the lady’s facet towards the 2 individuals – Ashish Oroan and Sunil Oroan.

SDPO stated the lady has filed a criticism with Sadar police station alleging rape and has been put beneath medical supervision. Meanwhile, the members of the family calling it lynching, have demanded motion and compensation accordingly.
