West Bengal: App glitches persist, state could miss shot goal at this time too

With the Centre’s CoWIN software experiencing glitches on Saturday, the state is observing one other shortfall in vaccinating the second listing of beneficiaries on Monday when the programme resumes.
On the primary day of the mass immunisation programme, 15,707 frontline employees had obtained Covid photographs towards a goal of 20,700 at 207 session websites within the state.
Officials had faulted CoWIN (Vaccine Intelligence Network) for the shortfall, saying they may not add beneficiaries’ particulars on it.
Moreover, the registered persons are but to obtain cellphone messages for Monday’s appointment. Health officers mentioned folks within the second listing would be told about their slot by cellphone.

“If they (the Central government) allow us to do the vaccination our way, we will definitely ensure everybody receives the jab. The CoWIN app is still not working. However, we will continue to give the vaccine shot tomorrow,” Director of Health Services Dr Ajoy Chakraborty advised The Indian Express.
He mentioned that this week, the state would administer the vaccine on 4 days — Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday.
